In celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Week, the Haywood County Amateur Radio Group will have a special event station on the air, during the Hatchie Fall Fest October 17-18, 2009. The Station will be in operation from 8:30 a.m., Saturday, until 3:30 p.m., on Sunday (CDT).  We will have a Winlink Packet Station in operation, as well as HF, on multiple bands.

Local talk-in will be on the KI4BXI repeater 444.525 (pl 107.2) or on VHF simplex on 147.555.  HF frequencies are as follows: 28.440, 21.340, 17.140, 14.240, 7.240, 3.840 (+/-) depending on band conditions, and traffic.

We would like to invite everyone to come by and visit (daylight hours only).  The Station will be located at the Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge, O'Neal Lake Facility,  6772 Highway 76 South, just off I-40 at Exit 52.

We would also like to invite any Scouts that are working on their radio merit badge, to come by and make use of our station as well.   We will be offering a special QSL certificate as confirmation of contact.  We will have information available on The Hatchie Wildlife Refuge, and Amateur Radio, at our location.

Come out and enjoy all of the wildlife that lives on O'Neal Lake.  Wildlife viewing facilities are available, and the lake is handicap accessible.
